Alexa Meade measurements, bio, height, weight, shoe, and bra size
Initiated by her observation of shadows reflected in the earth and shadows on the ground, the artist spent months experimenting with a method that allows objects to be represented in two dimensions onto canvas. Rather the subject is transformed into a representation of the subject, where the surface is the vehicle for its individual interpretation of the subject, particularly when the subject is alive or perishable for example, like humans or fruit. Alexa's style of painting is ephemeral and only the photos of her work remain. As the photographic and painting techniques are synchronized so tightly it creates an illusion of trompe l'oeil, where the illusion of 3D is only visible at certain locations, like the region around the eyes and the hair. Meade often incorporates models painted in the space surrounding them. They are able to be part of the world the artist has constructed. The result is a blurring of the lines between painting, photography and installation.
