Julia Fiona Roberts' parents are Walter Grady Roberts and Betty Lou Bredemus. Julia Fiona Roberts is the fourth generation of Roberts living in Atlanta. In the early years of his life his father became obsessed with theatre. As studying in Emory University in 1952 he was a part of productions at Emory University as well as in other parts of Atlanta. When he joined the Air Force In 1953, he starred in an airforce production in Biloxi together with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple got married in the year. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana after leaving the Airforce in the year 1957. Walter was employed to work for Atlanta Academy Theater and Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio to assist on the stage of the show Bum Bum and His Buddies. The show was filmed in Decatur Georgia. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show for children called Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture they self-financed. In 1964 Betty Lou and Walter founded their own organization called the Actors and Writers Workshop. It ran for six years. They had two more youngsters Lelisa (called Lisa) Billingsley in the year 1965, in 1965 and Julia (called Julie) in 1967.
