Julia Fiona Roberts, born on October 28, 1967, in Atlanta in the United States to Betty Lou Bredemus & Walter Grady Roberts. Roberts is fourth in the Roberts generation living in Atlanta starting with her farmer great-grandfather John Pendleton Roberts. Her father was keen interest from a young age in theatre. While a student at Emory University he appeared in various productions both on and off the campus. When he joined the Air Force In 1953, he starred in an airforce production in Biloxi with Betty Lou Bredemus. Eric Anthony was their first born. The couple was married in the year. Walter was a student at Tulane University New Orleans Louisiana following his departure from the Air Force in 1957. The family relocated in 1960 into Decatur Georgia where Walter began working at Atlanta's Academy Theater and the Harrington Scenic and Lighting Studio. Walter along with Betty Lou produced a Saturday morning local television show for children called Bum Bum and His Buddies in 1964. It was a venture that they funded themselves. In 1964 Betty Lou and Walter founded the Actors and Writers Workshop. It lasted for about six years. They also had Lelisa Billingsley (also called Lisa) and Julia (also also known as Julie) during this period.
