Simone Biles
Simone Biles was an American gymnast who was born on March 14, 1997 in Ohio, Columbus. She is considered to be one of the most outstanding athletes. She was the first gymnast from the United States ever to win four gold medals during the same Games. At Rio de Janeiro, she was also the first female to ever win successive World All-Around championships. Biles was raised within Spring Texas, in the Houston metropolitan area. She and her sister Adria were adopted by Ronald Biles and Nellie Biles. Simone was first drawn to the sport of gymnastics when she was just 6. Coach Aimee Borman brought her to Bannon's Gymnastix and they took them to a field trip. Biles achieved a silver medal at vault in 2010 and a bronze at the women's Junior Olympic National Championships. Biles then advanced to elite-level competitions in the year 2011. In less than two years, she was a dominant competitor in the sport. Biles was distinguished by her consistently high performance and exuberant persona, and the difficulty she encountered across the four events she competed in including vaulting, uneven bars and the balance beam.
