The debut single of hers came out in 2015. The track received praise from music critics and listeners. It was ranked in the Canadian Hot 100, and Billboard Hot 100, ranked it at 19. Even Rolling Stone called the track one of the Top Songs in 2015. That same year, she dropped her debut album Know It All with the third single Scars to Your Beautiful being one of the five original songs which reached the top of Billboard charts. This includes those of the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. In her Rap-Up interview the listeners discussed Cara's journey to self-love and the doubts she faced. Cara's music often contains positive thoughts about mental health and how important it is to love yourself. Her music is an expression of her own personal struggles in dealing with anxiety and depression. According to an Reuters interview she describes her album as half-tumultuous and half complete. Therapy helped her grow and encourages other people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. When she was 10 years old her parents gave her a guitar which became the starting point of her passion for music. A few years later, at 13 years old, she started covering her most loved songs on YouTube an important media platform in order to demonstrate to the world that she had the talents and the determination to be an artist. Sweater Weather is among those covers that led to her being discovered by EP Entertainment. This record label allowed her create the songs she wrote herself.
